Guided practice in PEDAL training

We are pleased to share with you the recording of a SPHEIR webinar exploring the delivery of non-academic online services like student support, and online capacity building for academic and non-academic staff. The event looks at the experience of four SPHEIR partnerships:

  • The online master trainers programme offered by the Transformation by Innovation in Distance Education (TIDE) project in Myanmar
Starts at 6 minutes of the recording
  • Student support services, including financial literacy and virtual career-readiness training, provided by the Lending for Education in Africa Partnership (LEAP), a social lending fund for financially disadvantaged university and TVET students being piloted in Kenya
Starts at 24 minutes of the recording
  • The Partnership for Pedagogical Leadership in Africa’s  (PEDAL’s) online pedagogical training, e-portfolios and redesigned courses on its learning management system, and use of platforms including AAU TV, YouTube and Facebook channels
Starts at 43 minutes of the recording
  • The Assuring Quality Higher Education in Sierra Leone (AQHED) project’s Quality Assurance Diploma for internal and external quality assurance staff, and training related to pedagogy, curriculum reform tools and gender.
Starts at 1 hour 5 minutes of the recording

Presenters from the four partnerships share how each online component was designed and executed, and describe the challenges encountered and adaptations made, as well as lessons learned. There is also a Q&A section towards the end of the recording.
